We have developed the image for the programme Zoom In belonging to the host of Central de Cómicos programmes which we recently designed for the entertainment channel Paramount Comedy.
The programme consists of an interview with a monologist inside a theatre stage area, enquiring after their beginnings in the world of stand-up comedy, their sources of inspiration and their style. The interview is followed by a monologue by the person in question and the graphics of the programme reflect the content idea: a magnifying glass that approaches from different angles and details to the character. We have designed the programme's opening sequence, bumpers and logo preserving a continuist line with the other Central de Cómicos' logos.
Five logos created by our studio were selected for the BASIC LOGOS book which has recently appeared in stores.
The news logos for Telediario and La2 Noticias of Televisión Española and the logos for channels laSexta, K3 and Televisión Canaria Dos can be viewed in the different sections of this volume. BASIC is a series edited by Index Book concerning the basic disciplines of Graphic Design. The first volume deals exclusively with logos, classified into three categories: Graphic, Typography and Illustration.
This past 4th of May, zeligstudio presented various projects at IDEP, many of which have been developed over the last few years. The Motion Graphics postgraduate students in attendance were able to learn about branding and brand image aspects that the company develops for different channels and programmes. Ignasi Gozalo y Ana Zelich began by explaining the initial concepts and briefings of each project, following with the production development phase involving different stages and techniques and finishing with a few practical examples of the making ofs'. Their aim was to give a global idea of the magnitude of broadcast design projects.
Zeligstudio often collaborates with IDEP Barcelona with lectures for postgraduates students and offer internships within the studio. Inside the school's 2010 catalogue, it is possible to read an interview of two ex-alumni, Mireia Pons and Adrián Andujar, who after finishing their respective periods as interns, are now part of the studio's team or collaborate on a constant basis.
Gol Televisión has recently released new continuity IDs that extend the possibilities of its image and reinforce the personality of the channel as a premium football network.
These continuity idents are the beginning of a new stage for the on-air image of the channel. The idea was to work the logo as an essential element of the branding, associating it to symbolic football elements inside of a futuristic and abstract environment.
In these pieces, the appearance of the logo has been treated with an animation that starts with a mechanical movement deconstruction of a ball and football shoe. The chromatic palette has been extended to include less obvious shades used in these types of channels, fleeing from metallic greys and red, allowing for a wider tonal play while giving the channel a higher level of versatility on screen.
Ana Zelich, creative director of zeligstudio, has been invited to participate as a member of the selection committee during the 9th edition of Select Index Book, in the section of Multimedia. Together with Ana, were the motion graphics studio Dvein and Olivier Grau from Vis-Tek studio. The selection was held on the 10th of March at the Museu de Disseny (DHUB) in Barcelona.
Every year, Index Book edits a yearbook of Spanish graphic design: Select. Graphic Design from Spain. Each edition compiles a careful selection of the greatest design projects carried out in Spain during the entire year.
This year marks the creation of the European edition: Selected, Graphic Design from Europe, inside of the two day event in which Index Book gathers professionals from around Europe to exchange ideas and creative solutions through conferences and workshops. This past edition was celebrated at the Axa Auditorium in Barcelona on the 12th and 13th of March.
During this past February, Paramount Comedy integrally premiered all the images of their own production “stand up” programmes with completely renovated identities.
We developed the rebranding of their monologue programmes beginning with the reformulation of naming, new logo design and new on-air image. At the same time, we have been developing the image for the new programme “Zoom In” and for the comedy shows which the channel produces for theatres in various cities in Spain, as well as improv nights at small clubs such as Sala Joy Eslava and Sala Harlem in Madrid.
“Central de Cómicos” is the new generic name of the main programme which gives a coherence and unity to the other formats which are edited: Central de Cómicos XXL, Central de Cómicos Express.
Zeligstudio has been collaborating since a few years ago with BAU Academy giving talks on TV channel branding, participating as jury members during final project presentations and offering internships to work alongside the studios' dynamic project developments.
This past 27th of January, Ana Zelich presented zeligstudio projects to two groups of BAU students that are studying the motion graphics master, underlining the aspects of branding and brand image that the studio develops for a variety of channels and programmes.
LaSexta's news programmes have premiered their new image during this past January, maintaining their style while at the same time emphasizing an innovative audiovisual language. When LaSexta started broadcasting three years ago, zeligstudio was also at the design helm of their initial news programmes image.
During this new stage, we have created an image that sidesteps the typical audiovisual codes for TV news programmes. The studio's creative approach was based on the search for a language that would build a bridge between the channel and the viewers, a fine balance between news and interest for the audience. This goal was achieved by means of Internet screen-style codes. The format structure has also been thought out in a particular manner, creating a versatile graphic system which allows adaptability for each of the specific needs of the various news editions.
