    On Saturday 14th of January, TVE launched the new identity of their different news programs: Telediario, la2Noticias, los Desayunos and los Centros Territoriales.

    Zeligstudio won the rebranding competition presented by TVE to create the new image, (also designed by Zeligstudio in 2009), a graphic system more in tune with the current corporate identity of the channels, with new formulas of displaying information and making better use of the 16/9 space of the screen.

    The new identity creates distance from geometric shapes such as the square and moves towards more "organic" and aerodynamic forms, searching out parallelism with the continuity graphic developments.

    Zeligstudio designs and creates two idents for Neox, the thematic channel belonging to Antena 3 Group, to promote the music festival Rock in Rio, one of the most important festivals in the world that the channel exclusively broadcasts for its programming.

    We created a small campaign to convey 'the magic of the moment', that culminating instant of emotional bonding between live music and body movement. The pieces are issued to promote the special program of last year's event, with performances by Katy Perry, Shakira, Metallica and others.

    Zeligstudio designs the brand identity for the new company Xarxa Oberta de Comunicació i Tecnologia de Catalunya, joint founded by Axia Net Media Corp. and Imagina Media Audiovisual to deploy the fiber optic telecommunications network in Catalonia.

    The identity is based on forms that convey the key concept of network technology and fiber optic connection, while creating a friendly and transparent brand.
    The logo is a connection node of four elements interrelated through colour and transparency that convey concepts such as: connection, radial motion, transparency, aperture, speed, future.

    This past Thursday, zeligstudio received a Silver Laus Award for the design, graphics  and animation of the news program la Sexta Noticias, during the 41th edition of the Laus international Awards for graphic design and visual communication.

    The award ceremony took place in the CCCB theatre in Barcelona, during the Nit Laus. The image of la Sexta Noticias received this recognition for the excellent artwork in the Audiovisual category.

    The la Sexta Noticias project and both GOL TV idents ("ball" and "boot") broadcast last year, which received a bronze award, will all appear in the LAUS 2011 book which is published simultaneously.

    The BTV news program identity commits to a new and strong design, linked to the city of Barcelona. Through a system of graphic pieces that adapt to each of the editions, the program gains aesthetic coherence and personality. The graphic language begins with the redesign of the logo using the current name of the program, linking the name of the channel with the news programme.

    The main concept of this design is diagonality, present in all of the pieces. This formal unit allows the creation of an animation system where real image and graphic elements can coexist.

    The night edition of BTV Noticias, presented and directed by Xavier Muixí, maintains the general personality of other news programmes of the channel, (logo, music, graphic forms). It portrays a more intimate style, deliberate and emotional, due to the nature of the detailed news.

    A new edition of the PromaxBDA conference and awards event took place during mid-April in Berlin. We were able to attend the lectures, projection sessions and awards ceremony for the best auto-promos of the year, as well as channel and programme design.

    To sum up and evaluate the event, we can say that content regarding auto-promotion, marketing, communication strategies and new supports for broadcasting captured the greater part of the expositions. In contrast, broadcast design is progressively losing its weight of importance in these types of events. A large percentage of attendees were from internal departments of European television channels and a reduced number were from branding studios such as ours. The conferences by Lobo and MK12 were interesting, although the latter was slightly repetitive regarding content. This shows us a clear picture of the current situation in Promax.

    We have designed the “Bestial” programme identity focusing on the life and vicissitudes of different animals, directed at a family target. During each chapter, the reporters follow domestic animals, covering situations that unfold at the vet and at home, as well as farm and zoo animals and aquarium life, all in a friendly tone, warm and entertaining.

    The programme identity is based on the representation of the animal world through different onomatopoeias and animal sounds, with typographic animations accompanied by fresh, dynamic and effective music.

    The new on-air design reinforces the positioning solidity of the channel and continues to transmit the idea of a premium football channel, showcasing the best leagues in the world.

    The new image adopts the colour red as the main identifying trait, being used extensively for backgrounds while maintaining the metallic greys of the logo. The concept of diagonality from the previous look remains intact and is further  developed. The idents are based on the idea of deconstruction of the letters that form “GOL” into multiple elements that allow a wide range of transformations, recreating gestures, actions and moments of tension from the games.

    This past 8th of February, zeligstudio participated in the Branding Master programme with a presentation on TV Branding.

    Spanning four hours, Ana Zelich shared the different brand development projects, pertaining to the audiovisual field, that the zeligstudio team is currently working on.

    The presentation focused specifically on television branding projects, for both general and themed channels and specific programmes: channels such as Gol Televisión, La Sexta, K3, Televisión Española news bulletins and La Sexta Noticias. Various programmes were also presented, demonstrating all the stages from the initial briefing to the end results of a project.

     Elisava's Branding Master proposes the global management of a brand as the key factor of success in an environment that is evermore competitive and globalized. Throughout the course, a complete vision of how brands are created and managed is reviewed, as well as how to approach the brand concept to better direct development, design and business projection.
